PCI Express 4.0 to achieve 32Gbps Year 2013

PCI Express 4.0

You think Intel Thunderbolt is the only current super-fast interconnects? Hehehe, iya sih. And also will last long enough.

But note also that the PCI Special Interest Group has just held a meeting and annual developer conference in California, USA. There was revealed plans for 32Gbps PCIe cable.

Unclear as to what exactly the plug, but he reportedly will be made of copper wire, thinner and flat compared to the design of Thunderbolt. Will also be able to distribute power and data to devices within up to 3 meters (10 feet).
Targeting consumer applications, and tablet and laptop supertipis, PCI Express cable variation of this will begin with a base specification 3.0 in 2013. Will then move from there into a PCI Express 4.0, and possibly, the optical data.

Oh yes, PCI-Express 4.0 was also announced by the PCI SIG. But this is still at least four years away from true. So no need to quickly come to expect at your motherboard.
